Conscious of the importance of incorporating new guidelines that will enable us to coordinate our activities with the protection of the environment, we have decided to carry out the implementation of a Strategic Sustainability plan based on the principles of the Economy for the Common Good. This will allow us to minimize the possible environment, social and economic impacts resulting from our activities and will guarantee sustainable development to all levels.
The Economy for the Common Good promotes a new sustainable business model activity which serves general interests or common good. This system is based in the required principles of trust, honesty, responsibility, cooperation, solidarity, generosity and compassion, among others.
Our common good balance reflects our sustainability policies, required to guarantee human dignity, solidarity, social justice, ecologic sustainability and democracy with all our suppliers and clients.
Through the Sustainability Plan we have carried out five guidelines that will allow us to improve our compromise with sustainability over the years:
Reduction of energy consumption and the use and consumption of natural resources, minimising waste generation, reducing carbon footprint and committing with our society.
Reduction of energy consumption by adopting energy efficiency policies and raising our worker’s awareness about good practices.
Reduction in the use of natural resources through strategic plans that will allow the selection of environmentally friendly materials that will ensure a responsible production in all its life cycle.
For the last few years, we have been working on our own vegetable gardens being respectful with the environment.
Commitment to society through dialog with our groups of interest.
By means of our HR policies that favor our workers’ interests, choosing sustainable suppliers and allocating part of our profits to social action projects, among others.
We donate 0,7% of profits to Action Against Hunger, as well as other occasional contribution.
Waste minimisation through the election of minimal packaging products, recycling and revaluation of residues.
We prioritise the election of returnable glass packaging. We use, whenever possible, recycled paper for graphic media, as well as cardboard cups and paper napkins.
We carry out waste separation for recycling.
Reduction of carbon footprint by estimating every year our own carbon footprint and establishing emission reduction plans that will allow to cope with derived problems of Climate Change.
For this purpose, among other measures, we use an electric car and we have installed solar and photovoltaic panels. We want to reduce emissions as much as possible.
This sustainability policy provides the framework for establishing and revising objectives and sustainability goals assumed by the Voramar Management and which are integrated in the current and future management of our business.
